Acrobatiq is the only learning-science based creation and delivery platform that brings unprecedented scale to courseware development while improving learning, knowledge retention, and persistence by turning students from passive readers to active learners.

A Research-based Approach
Acrobatiq is founded on 12 years of research at Carnegie Mellon's Open Learning Initiative, where researchers confirmed that doing practice does not just correlate to better outcomes, doing practices causes better outcomes. This is called the Doer Effect—the learning science principle that students who do practice as they read have higher learning gains than those who only read. Our technology delivers active, personalized learning through embedded practice—this Learn by Doing approach replicates the causal relationship that the Doer Effect has on learning.

Data-driven Design
As students engage with Acrobatiq's Learn by Doing activities, they produce a rich data stream on the learning process. Acrobatiq models this learning data to generate predictive learning estimates that adapt the activities to each learner's needs and yield actionable insights for instructors. Identify at-risk learners, spot trends, and continuously refine courses and student outcomes with powerful Acrobatiq's data analytics.

Our own award-winning Doer Effect research replicates the findings that doing practice causes learning showing a correlation between the amount of practice students did in Acrobatiq and their summative quiz scores.

SmartStart, Course Development Reimagined—
Our Artificial Intelligence engine uses natural language processing and machine learning to automate the conversion of static etext content into interactive courseware. With one click, SmartStart creates topical lessons, identifies clear learning objectives, and generates embedded practice from etext content, reducing course development time and rapidly scaling content-to-course conversions.

Overall

Overall

VitalSource Acrobatiq shows moderate to significant evidence of all review criteria. In terms of accessibility, it has clear evidence of supplier accessibility maturity. Accessible functionality is another strength, although there is capacity for development on product accessibility documentation. Efficacy reviews demonstrate strong case studies and rigorous methodologies. Reviewers want to see more evidence of race and income research comparisons, as well as additional efficacy studies to address impacts on BLI and low-income students’ academic success. For equity, the product scores best in language and learning activities. Equity reviewers desire improvement in learning outcomes and student representation. Functionality shows promise in adaptivity and evidence-based teaching. There is little evidence of offering community building or student-to-student interactions within the product. In system capabilities, Acrobatiq excels in content management, course administration, and communication about third-party applications. At the same time, some challenges are visible in relation to data access alerts and privacy policies. Overall, efficacy and accessibility show most evidence, while system capabilities, equity, and functionality results were more varied.
