Digital Tools to Promote Active Learning in Online Spaces
Digital learning tools are not limited to the courseware used for online courses but include technologies that can enable active learning, according to Jennifer Qian, Professor of Professional Practice in the Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education at Louisiana State University.
Qian incorporates digital tools into her teaching and, in turn, asks students to use those tools for creative activities that demonstrate their learning.

Since the beginning of his higher education career, Justin Allison, who has positions as adjunct instructor and instructional designer, has used technology inside and outside the classroom. He believes effectively using courseware depends on understanding the needs of faculty and students from an instructional design standpoint, so his approach is to help other faculty navigate their options to create meaningful student experiences.
Join the EDUCAUSE Blended and Digital Learning Community Group
CourseGateway is excited to be featured in a talk for members on February 7 at 2pm CT. EDUCAUSE Community Groups (CGs) are online communities where higher education professionals learn from and network with each other around shared topics and interests.
